4th May 2009
Windsurfing: alton ressy
Wind Direction: nw
Wind Stength: 18knts
Surf / Sea State: flat
Air Temperature: ok
Sea Temperature: ok
Weather: ok
Max Speed: 24.2 (knots - unless stated otherwise)
Distance Covered: 4 nm (Nautical Miles - unless stated otherwise)

Had a nice one myself at Alton (reserviour) on Sunday. I only had 1.5hrs so I only sailed from 10.00 to 12.00am
Saw Clive Pete (not Cutts)and Ray T had a good time. Unfortunately the boats were racing and I had to dodge in betweem them. As always with Alton the wind is up for 10 mins then down 10 mins
Used 8.5M and carve 145 for the GPS results 24kntsNice :)

Pete C
Tried to see the fastest point of sailing on the 145L its 78cm wide. The water was flatish ( a bit bumpy at times but essentially flat). The fastest point sailing is as the computer tracks shows, it broad reaching - not close reaching.
The best set on the sail is top of the sail downhaul range, because it gave the fastest GPS runs. The problem is you cant sail normally at that setting, its gutless.
What I did was set full enjoy - wind up - get in set for max recommend downhaul set 2nd / 3rd batten behind the mast
Get up wind and let rip downwind (accidentally causing a dinghy to overturn in the race (the kids thought I was going to crash in to them at speed) which I was very sorry and apologetic for) but I did get the run in:)
As the water was flat Pete the nose didn't dig in.
Unfortunatley the wind wasn't strong enough 18kts so I wasn't able to go faster.
I had to leave but it was a good day.
